Your Questions, Answered
Will it actually fit my dog?
Find your dog's height at the hips in the table below: height picks the size.
XS starts at 9 in (23 cm) tall. XXL goes up to 29.5 in (75 cm) tall and 132 lb (60 kg), with hips up to 17.8 in (45 cm) wide.

Height at the hips picks the size. Weights are the maker's guide. Breeds are estimates from AKC breed standards (height at the shoulder), so measure your dog.
If the size is wrong, am I stuck with it?
No. That's The Fit Promise: wrong size? Email us. We will send the right one, free, even if you measured wrong.
Within 60 days of delivery: email us a photo of your dog in the cart if you think the size might be wrong; If it is, we will swap it for free. No restocking fee, no return shipping. One swap per order.
Defective, damaged or wrong items: always replaced free.
Will it arrive in time? Will it cost more than the price shown?
Arrives in 4–9 business days.
It ships from overseas, and those dates allow for that. Nothing more to pay at the door: shipping is free, and US duties and taxes are included in the price.
The Handy Harness comes in its own parcel, within the same dates.
Some insurers cover carts when your vet recommends one; check your policy.
My vet said to wait. What if they no longer need it?
Dogs on strict crate rest should wait for their vet's go-ahead before using a wheelchair. We don't give medical advice: that's your vet's call.
If plans change before you use it, for any reason, The 60-Day Change-of-Plans Promise gives you a full refund. Unused, within 60 days of delivery: email a photo of the cart. Full refund, no return needed. One claim per customer.
Is my dog strong enough to pull it?
It's made to be light: an aluminium frame, and light materials everywhere else. The cart itself weighs 1.8 lb (XS) to 6.4 lb (XXL), or 2.6 to 9.5 lb as a four-wheel.
Your dog pulls it with their front legs. If those are weak too, tick «Add front wheels» above: the four-wheel adds front support, in every size.
Can I get them in and out by myself?
That's the job of The Handy Harness, free with every wheelchair and sized to match it. Whatever size your dog is, it takes the weight of their back end while you lift them into the cart and out again.
Can they pee and poop while they're in it?
Yes. Male and female dogs can pee and poop while they're in the cart. They go standing: a dog can't squat or sit in it.
Full Support For Every Pup
- Chest HarnessPadded on their chest, to spread the load.
- Belly BandA padded, breathable band under their belly supports their weight.
- Hip Harness With Leg RingsHolds up their back end and leaves them free to pee and poop.
- Foot StirrupsKeep the back paws off the ground.
- Rear WheelsRoll on pavement, grass and indoor floors.
- Front WheelsSupport the front end too, for dogs with weak front legs.
Back legs that still step can walk in it. Legs that don't rest in the stirrups. The frame adjusts in length, width and height, in every size.

Give Them Their Walks Back
The point of the cart: getting them out the door and moving on their own again.
Tilted Wheels For A Steadier Ride
The rear wheels angle out at the bottom. That gives the cart a wider base on the ground, so it's steadier and less likely to tip over.
Sidewalks, Grass, Gravel And More
Stone sidewalks, pavement, grass or gravel: take the walks they're used to. The wheels are airless, so they can't go flat, and they give a little to soak up bumps for a smoother ride.
What A Dog Wheelchair Can Help With
A wheelchair can help dogs living with:
- Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
- Ruptured Disc
- Spinal Trauma
- IVDD
- Hip Dysplasia
- Arthritis
- Old Age
- Rear Leg Amputation
- Rehab After Disc, Knee or Hip Surgery
Shown: the four-wheel version, for weak front legs too. Your vet can tell you if a wheelchair is right for your dog.
The first week
Owners report dogs taking to it anywhere from straight away to a couple of weeks.
-
Start on flat ground
Stay beside them while they learn. Dogs can tip over while they're still learning.
-
Keep sessions short
They stand while they're in it: they can't sit or lie down in it. Lift them out to rest.
-
Indoors works too
Including on hardwood floors. If their paws slip there, owners lay down runners or rugs.
-
Most pups adjust quickly
Once they realize how much freedom the wheels give them back, most dogs settle in fast.
Not sure this is the right call? Here's how the options compare.
-
A cheap online cart
The right call when: price comes first, and you have time to send it back if the fit is off.
What it often skips: it's sized by a weight chart, and owners report trouble getting the dog in and out, and thin straps.
-
A custom-built cart
The right call when: your dog's body is unusual, or they're an active dog with permanent paralysis who'll use it for years.
What it often skips: speed. It's built to order, takes weeks, and comes with deposits or limited refunds.
-
Building your own
The right call when: you're handy and want the cost close to zero.
What it often skips: a harness system to hold them in the frame.
-
A stroller
The right call when: your dog objects to wheels, or can't walk at all.
What it often skips: the walk itself. A stroller carries them, so they don't walk or sniff on their own.
Other owners on deciding
Public posts from owners about their own decision, not about this cart.

Degenerative myelopathy (DM)
“He doesn't have long but I want to make his last weeks/month joyful. He still LOVES walking and will drag his body to get where he wants.”

IVDD
“…even if he becomes paraplegic permanently, we do not mind as long as he's happy and healthy.”
